Introduction

ADAWA is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information which the organisation collects, holds and administers.

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to provide a framework for ADAWA in dealing with privacy considerations in regard to personal information, being information, which directly or indirectly identifies a person.

Policy

ADAWA collects and administers a range of personal information for the purposes of human resource data.  The organisation is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information it collects, holds and administers.

ADAWA recognises the essential right of individuals to have their information administered in ways which they would reasonably expect, protected from access by third parties and accessible to them.  These privacy values are reflected in and supported by our core values and philosophies and also reflected in our Privacy Procedures, which is compliant with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Privacy Amendment (Enhancing Privacy Protection) Act 2012.

Review

This policy is current and will be reviewed periodically.  It is subject to change as / when legislation, regulation or amendments by ADAWA occurs.

Employee Acknowledgement

Individual responsibilities relating to this policy will be explained during an employee’s induction and acknowledgement of this policy is to be signed as a condition of employment.  If an employee is unsure about any matter covered by this policy, they should seek assistance from the Human Resource Advisor.

Authorisation

This policy has been endorsed by the Chief Executive Officer of ADAWA and operationally will be overseen by the appropriate level of delegated authority in consultation with the Human Resource Advisor.
