ADAWA Conference Terms and Conditions

You have registered for a conference, seminar, lecture or CPD (“Conference”) advertised by or otherwise associated with Australian Dental Association (WA Branch) Inc ABN 91 705 851 546 (“ADAWA”).
By registering for the Conference you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Participation Risks

a. Participation in the Conference is entirely at your own risk.
b. To the extent permitted by law, you:
i. release ADAWA from any claim, demand, dispute, action, damage, loss, liability, cost, payment, expense (including lawyer's fees and expenses on a full indemnity basis), order or judgment (“Claim”) arising against ADAWA; and
ii. indemnify ADAWA, and must keep us indemnified, against any Claim which we incur or become liable for,
in connection with your participation in the Conference, except to the extent such Claim arises out of our breach of these Terms and Conditions, or the negligence or wilful act or omission of ADAWA (or a party for whom we are legally responsible).

Privacy Policy

a. ADAWA collects, uses, and discloses your personal information for purposes connected with the organisation and administration of, and your participation in, the Conference. These purposes may include: payment processing; producing a list of delegates; marketing by ADAWA and our Conference sponsors; notifying external parties for CPD recording purposes; and informing the Conference venue and (if applicable) our Conference partners of any special requirements and requests submitted by you.
b. You may decline to be included on a list of Conference delegates or opt out of any marketing information by emailing cpd@adawa.com.au.

Registration and Session Capacity

a. ADAWA has discretion whether or not to accept Conference registrations, will provide email confirmation and a tax invoice once your registration is accepted.
b. Some Conference sessions may be capacity restricted for reasons including venue capacity; CPD requirements; COVID-19 directions; or other government guidelines.

Fees

a. Unless expressly stated otherwise:
i. The Conference fee does not include travel, meals or accommodation.
ii. All Conference pricing is quoted in Australia Dollars, exclusive of GST.
b. You must pay GST in respect of all taxable supplies made to you in connection with these Terms and Conditions.

Delegate Responsibilities

a. You must comply with the Conference venue’s conditions of entry and required standards of behaviour; as well as any verbal or written instructions given by venue staff during the Conference.

Photography

a. You acknowledge that the Conference may be video recorded, sound recorded and/or photographed.
b. By attending the Conference, you consent to the possibility that:
i. you may be filmed, recorded, and photographed; and
ii. those films, recordings, and photographs may be used by ADAWA for advertising, information, and promotional purposes.

Presentation at a continuing education program of clinical methods, materials, techniques or approaches to business issues that arise in dental practice, do not constitute endorsement by WA Dental CPD. By registering for a WA Dental CPD course the delegate takes sole responsibility for the use of any information provided in the course

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Online registration and secure payment is available on the ADAWA website adawa.com.au/cpd. Registration may also be performed via the registration form supplied, or over the phone by calling 08 9211 5600. If using paper forms, email them to cpd@adawa.com.au with credit card details made payable to ADAWA Branch Inc. A detailed receipt will be issued for all bookings advising you of the course name, date and CPD hours.

We accept Mastercard, Visa, Diners and Amex. GST is included in the course fee. Once your attendance has been confirmed after the event is held, a Certificate of Attendance will be emailed to you.

PROGRAM CANCELLATION

ADAWA & University of WA School of Dentistry (herein referred to as WA Dental CPD) takes all care to produce high quality program events that deliver as promised. All advertised details are correct at the time of publication. However when circumstances beyond our control prevail, WA Dental CPD reserves the right to cancel, postpone, relocate or reschedule any program. If WA Dental CPD exercises this option, WA Dental CPD will employ reasonable endeavours to notify delegates as early as possible to minimise inconvenience. WA Dental CPD will not accept any responsibility for travel and accommodation costs incurred by delegates. Where a refund is due to a delegate, a cheque or refund to a credit card for the amount paid will be issued within 30 days of notification. In the case of program postponement or rescheduling, the delegate may choose to transfer the fee from the cancelled course to a future program of equal value. In this case these terms and conditions apply.

DELEGATE CANCELLATION POLICY

Requests for refunds must be directed to the Director of Continuing Professional Development ADAWA via cpd@adawa.com.au.

MOBILE DEVICES AND LAPTOP COMPUTER POLICY

Some presenters may insist that mobile devices and laptop computers not be used during their lectures. This includes texting, recording and photographing any images. We ask that you respect any such requirement by presenters.

HANDS-ON COURSES

A full refund will be given for cancellation of hands-on courses made at least four weeks prior to the event. A 50% refund will be given for cancellations of hands-on courses made at least two weeks prior to the event. No refund will be given for cancellations made during the two weeks prior to the event.

LECTURE COURSES

A full refund will be given for cancellation of a lecture course made at least two weeks prior to the event. A 50% refund will be given for cancellations of lecture courses up to one week prior to the event.

No refund will be given for cancellations made during the week prior to the course. Substitution of delegates can occur at any time at no additional cost.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

WA Dental CPD will endeavour to accommodate special dietary requests. Please make these requests at the time of booking.

ADDITIONAL FEES FOR NON MEMBERS

An additional 50% will be added to the standard course fee for non members of ADA (excludes UWA School of Dentistry staff, practice staff and members of other ADA branches). You must be an ADA or UWA staff member on the date you attend a WA Dental CPD course.

COURSE NOTES

In the interest of environmental sustainability, CPD may replace printed course notes with an electronic copy which will be emailed. To ensure receipt of these notes, please advise WA Dental CPD of your correct email address on your registration.

POLICY ON COMPLIMENTARY ATTENDANCE

Complimentary attendance at WA Dental CPD courses is available to:

  • Presenter
  • Convenor
  • Industry Representative if paying all costs associated with the course speaker – limit of 2 with additional attendees at the discretion of the WA Dental CPD Committee.
  • Industry Representative if partially sponsoring the course – limit of 2 with additional attendees at a direct cost associated with the event, such as catering.
  • Sponsor or Industry Representative if providing or assisting with the course – limit of 2.
  • Affiliated Persons if a collaborative event such as WA Dental CPD with an Affiliated Society – limit of 2.
  • Affiliated Persons if a collaborative event such as WA Dental CPD with the UWA Dental School – limit of 2 outside of any student specific allowance detailed below.
  • Interstate or Overseas Presenter’s Partner if a dinner/evening meeting.
  • ADAWA Country Members – limit of 2 complimentary courses per calendar year, held in the metropolitan area only, excluding limited attendance and dinner courses. This applies to members whose practice and principal residence is in R3 – R5 locations.
  • DCD Students excluding limited attendance and dinner courses. Must be an ADAWA member.
  • DMD Students excluding limited attendance courses. No access to catering.
  • UWA Dental School Graduate Diploma Students (full time studies), excluding limited attendance and dinner courses. Must be an ADAWA member.
  • UWA Dental School Research Students (full time studies), excluding limited attendance and dinner courses. Must be an ADAWA member.
  • ADAWA Members completing further studies in other departments (full time studies), excluding limited attendance and dinner courses.
