Get Away to the Great Southern

Are you planning on ticking off some CPD hours in Albany? If you are heading down for the CPD course, make sure you book off a couple of extra days to explore Albany and the Great Southern.

CPD Spotlight

Approximately 4.5 hours south-east of Perth, Albany and the Great Southern is the largest and most diverse region in Australia’s South-West. Take in the unspoilt coastline and seaside towns as well as the national parks, ancient forests and mountains.

Go to the beach

Albany is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Whether you are looking for a dog-friendly beach, one to take the family or a perfect spot to throw in a fishing line, there are many to choose from.

Whale Watching

Late May to early October coincides with the annual migration of the Humpback and Southern Right Whales. It’s the perfect time to go to Albany to be a part of this magical experience.

Granite Skywalk

If you are looking for a hike with a difference, head to Porongurup and experience the spectacular view of the Granite Skywalk. The Granite Skywalk is a suspended walkway on the granite outcrop of Castle Rock, and definitely one to add to your to-do list.

Diving Charters

Albany is home to a range of dive sites including HMAS Perth and Cheynes III wrecks.

The National ANZAC Centre

If you haven’t visited the National ANZAC Centre yet, make sure you drop in while you are in Albany. Experience the ANZAC Legend with the stories of service men and women during the Great War.

Food, glorious food

Foodies are in for a treat around Albany and the Great Southern. Enjoy fresh produce at the many restaurants and wineries or get some fresh produce to cook your own meal from the Albany Farmers Market, which is open every Saturday morning. And if you enjoy the occasional drink, be sure to visit the Great Southern Distilling Company to try their range of craft spirits.
